The game is set in 2005, between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. It depicts the events shortly after the establishment of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA), a counter-terrorism group introduced in Resident Evil 5.[1] The story revolves around BSAA co-founders Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, the protagonists of the first Resident Evil.



The city of Terragrigia (Italian for "Grey Earth") was built on an artificial island in the Mediterranean Sea over a period of eleven years. In its heyday, this "floating city" was one of the top tourist destinations of the Queen Zenobia Cruise Lines, a cruise line that operated mostly around Italy. Terragrigia was also the first community in the world to sustain its population with solar power only, thus earning it the title of the most ecological city ever. In 2004, the bioterrorist organization "Il Veltro"

launched an attack on the city using B.O.W.s (Bio Organic Weapons) in opposition to Terragrigia's solar energy development. In response, the Federal Bioterrorism Commission (FBC) sent agents, including Parker and Jessica, to keep the situation under control.



At the conclusion of the operation, all Veltro members were reportedly wiped out, but Terragrigia was declared a biohazard site. All survivors were evacuated and the city ruins were quarantined within a 100-mile radius. The incident would be remembered as the "Terragrigia Panic" and served as a grim reminder to the world of the ever-looming threat of black market bioweapons.



In 2005, the BSAA sends out Jill Valentine and her new partner, Parker Luciani to search for Chris Redfield and h�s new partner, Jessica Sherawat. They have reportedly gone missing and lost contact with HQ during their mission to investigate Il Veltro's possible reappearance. Jill and Parker are sent to search for them at their last known location, a cruise ship - the SS Queen Zenobia. Shortly after their arrival they witness a video transmission of a masked man who claims to be Il Veltro and threatens to infect approximately one fifth of the Earth's oceans with the t-Abyss virus, a marine virus derived from the deadly t-virus in retaliation to the FBC for their involvement of the destruction of Veltro's forces on Terragriagia.



During their search for Chris and Jessica they encounter several B.O.W.s on the ship infected with the t-Abyss virus. But after they encounter the mysterious FBC agent Raymond Vester, Jill and Parker soon learn nothing is what it seems aboard the SS Queen Zenobia.

Gameplay



A recent trailer, recorded last month during a media presentation of the Nintendo 3DS, shows the gameplay (camera, movement, aiming etc) to be similar to that of Resident Evil 5, but the camera switches to first person view in the use of firearms. The official Resident Evil Portal lists that first person will be optional, and the player can switch to third person aiming at any time.



Jill Valentine is approached by a creature with a resemblance to the Regenerador from Resident Evil 4. Revelations will restore the series' "survival horror" moniker rather than the "survival action" of Resident Evil 5.



Weather reportedly plays a role in the game, a feature that was originally intended for Resident Evil 5. Player skill will be an important factor on determining which events play at certain points in the game, such as how quickly the player can maneuver through the capsized ship. This article confirmed that it will be possible to move and shoot at the same time.



Using the scanner will find hidden items within the boards. Scanning a certain type of enemies a number of times will yield benefits of some kind.



Touch screen will be used in puzzles and inventory management.



Raid mode will put the player against enemies trying to beat their previous score. Play solo or online with a partner. Earn custom gun parts to upgrade your arsenal and unlock new weapons, such as the legendary rifle Muramasa. Confirmed playable characters are Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Parker Luciani, Jessica Sherawat, Quint Cetcham, Keith Lumley, Clive R. O'Brian, Raymond Vester and Morgan Lansdale.
