Parallel Steering: Hot Bodies Cyclone
i just picked up this cyclone this week to build my first counter dori rc car and was reading through the forums and found that parallel steering is important for counter drift. first i wanted to get the yokomo 0 ackerman steering rack. i looked at my cyclone and that wasn't possible without lots of modding since yokomo uses 2 steering arms. While the cyclone steering rack design only has one bell crank that steers the front wheels.
so than i searched the term parallel steering on google and found that many rc rock crawlers have parallel steering setup. so i thought how i could do this to my cyclone and in about 20mins i thought of this idea.
i went down to a local hobby store and see what parts they had for this mod.
i couldn't find a long enough turn buckle extended front one steering knuckle to the other so i just go a threaded steel rod, ball joint kit and 2 long screws.
i'll make a video of the car in action once the complete car is done. still waiting for gears to ship in and i should be ready to go.

UPDATE 8/1/10:
Cut up steering horns
Notice how much more parallel the steering rod is now.
also had too add spacers to the wheels so that it won't hit the coilovers
this setup is very close to parallel steering but still has very little bit of ackerman left in it.
