GBP/USD masih kokoh meski perdagangan sepi

Pound bergerak tipis terhadap dolar meski perdagangan relative sepi di sesi Rabu di saat Dana Moneter Internasional siap memulai penilaian tahunan ekonomi Inggris.

Di April, IMF pangkas perkiraan pertumbuhan ekonomi Inggris menjadi 0,7% di 2013 dari 1% di Januari dan mengesankan bahwa pemerintah kembali memperrtimbangkan langkah penghematan dalam waktu dekat untuk membantu mendorong perekonomian.

Sementara laporan dari Konsorsium Ritel Inggris, British Retail Consortium (BRC), mengatakan penjualan retell Inggris turun tajam di April, sebagai hasil dari libur paskah yang lebih awal namun tren yang mendasari terlihat tengah membaik. BRC mengatakanpenjualan ritel Inggris turun 2,2% pada basis tahunan, runtuhkan ekspektasi untuk kenaikan 1,8%.
