Gamesindustry.biz posted a interesting article about the upcoming PS3- Exclusive, Agent.

According to Ben Feder, CEO of Take Two, Agent is going to re-define the genre.

�The game, like anything from Rockstar North, is going to be very, very cool. It�s going to push the edge, it�s going to be genre-defining and it�s going to be a whole new way of experiencing videogames that we haven�t really seen before.

�They�re the best development team on the planet,� added Feder, referring to Rockstar North. �We have a lot of respect for Sony, we have a lot of good business relationships with Sony. The PlayStation platforms are best suited for the title.�

According to Ben Feder: �Exclusivity does work,�

�At this phase in the cycle, when you�re trying to launch a new franchise, exclusivity can really help you launch the franchise. It can give you the kind of platform that you need to start exclusive, start in the right kind of way with the right kind of partner. Exclusivity does work,� said president of Take-Two, Ben Feder�

�I have a lot of confidence in Sony. I have a lot of confidence in their ability to lead the market, as they always have. Their console is a terrific platform to be developing for, and Agent is a great testament as to our belief in what that platform can do, and what they can do with us as part of a partnership.�

With Agent, the team at Rockstar North can fully concentrate on 1 console, which means they have a lot more time to spend on the game.

We still don�t know if this is a GTA-type of game, a 3rd person ,etc.

Well, we don�t know that much about Agent yet, so everything is welcome in these times.

The main thing we know is: ��Set in the 1970s and full of delicious espionage, will be �the ultimate action game�

Eurogamer had a chance to sit down with Ben Feder the CEO of Take Two Interactive, he gives away some information in a flamboyant way.

�Very, very different storylines, very different character development� from the wildly successful Rockstar North series Grand Theft Auto.

�It�s a game about espionage, set in the 1970s. GTA is obviously more about an urban experience, a typically rags to riches experience,� Feder says. �It�s going to be very fresh for gamers.��

The Take-Two CEO doesn�t have much to share beyond that, opting to opine �I think gamers will be blown away by it."

Some interesting info concerning the Rockstar PS3 exclusive spy game Agent | ShogunGamer

At Sony�s E3 conference it was announced that the PlayStation 3 was getting an exclusive franchise from prolific developer Rockstar Games in the form of Agent. Besides a cool looking logo and a simple summary that the game would be a spy story set in the 1970s no other details were given. And of course in typical Rockstar fashion it�ll be quite some time before we see any media or learn new details on the project.

But the sharp eyes at the Superannuation blog have found some interesting info on Agent which shows that the project has been around for awhile. It seems that development on Agent has been going on for longer than we thought as the resume of a 3D modeler lists the game as a PlayStation 2 and Xbox title. The resume also lists the game as a Rockstar San Diego project which is interesting since the game is now being developed by the GTA team at Rockstar North. It�s unclear why development on Agent stopped when it was being developed on the PS2 and Xbox and why Rockstar decided to start things up again on the PS3.

The other interesting piece of info Superannuation dug up sheds some light on a potential environment in Agent. Once again the info comes from a resume of an Environment Artist who lists his duties on Agent as being part of a team sent to Cairo to capture over 10,000 reference photos for the game.

This info is particularly interesting as it shows that Agent could be an international affair and it may be somewhat ditching the typical Rockstar format of sticking to one key sandbox location. Obviously this may not be the case as the Cairo trip was when Rockstar San Diego was working on the project so who knows what we can expect and what changes have been made since Rockstar North have taken over the project. But if Cairo will be the sole location in the game it still would be rather unique due to the landscape and if Rockstar pulls an OSS 117 then I�ll be quite happy.

Hip Hop Gamer Show has an interesting article online about Agent, talking about the possibilities and how it can become a �intimidating title� just like Uncharted 2 is now.

Thinking about Naughty Dog showing off what can be achieved in game-design/development(PS3), Rockstar has some things to achieve, but with Rockstar North working on the title (Grand Theft Auto) this doesn�t seem to hard.

Topping off with: �If Agent is going to have the same impact as Grand Theft Auto, it�s going to be madd�, because they prove every single time that they are in the position to achieve outstanding stuff, they belong to the �Elite of the Game Industry�, they sure do!
