Kalau tidak ada kuah gule siap pakai, ganti dengan air lalu tambahkan 1 sdt bumbu kari dan santan kental saat memasaknya. Masakan khas Jogya ini, kata orang Semarang khas sana, tapi orang Solo selalu meyakinkan bahwa ini asli masakan mereka.

Bahan:
  • 1 kg daging kambing campur tulang
  • 5 sdm minyak untuk menumis.
Bumbu haluskan:
  • 2 sdm ketumbar, sangrai
  • 10 bh bawang merah
  • 6 bh bawang putih
  • 1 sdt jintan
  • � sdt biji pala
  • 1 sdt garam

Bumbu lain:
  • 6 lbr daun jeruk purut
  • 2 lbr daun salam
  • 1 btng sereh, memarkan
  • 1 ltr kuah gulai siap pakai.
  • 6 sdm kecap manis
  • 5 lbr daun kol
  • 2 bh tomat, belah 4.
Cara membuatnya:
  1. Panaskan minyak goreng, tumis bumbu halus hingga wangi, masukkan daging kambing, aduk-aduk spy terlumuri bumbu dan daging berubah warna. Masukkan daun jeruk, daun salam dan sereh, aduk rata, masak terus hingga mendidih dan daging empuk.
  2. Menjelang diangkat, masukkan kol yg sudah dipotong kasar, dan tomat. Tutup wajan sebentar. Angkat.
