The European champions were linked with a dramatic late swoop for their former player before Valencia ultimately beat the clock to secure a loan signing with a view to a permanent transfer.
"I heard nothing about Madrid. Valencia was the most favourable offer and the one I wanted," Negredo said to reporters at his unveiling.
"There was a lot of uncertainty and plenty of nerves throughout the day. But I have a very professional group of people beside me."
