Kelinci pun pergi. Keesokan harinya bung kelinci datang lagi dan bertanya "ada wortel pak?"
Pedagang emas menjawab dengan agak kesal "Kan sudah dibilang kemarin, ini toko emas mana ada wortel"Bung kelinci pun pergi lagi. Esok harinya bung kelinci pergi ke toko yang sama dan bertanya "ada wortel pak?"
Dengan nada geram karena sudah hilang kesabarannya pedagang emas berkata "kalau kamu datang sekali lagi, akan saya ikat kamu kuat-kuat dengan tali dan akan saya letakan di meja saya, kemudian akan saya kuliti kamu hidup-hidup pake golok". "Sudah sana pergi tidak ada wortel di sini, tau!" Kelinci pun melengos.
Tiga hari kemudian bung kelinci datang kembali dan bertanya kepada tukang emas "bapak punya tali?"
"tidak" jawab tukang emas heran.
"golok?"
"ngga juga, buat apa golok di toko emas?"
pedagang emas tambah heran dan bertanya
"emangnya kenapa?"
"well, kalo gitu... ada wortel?" kata bung kelinci.
