MANCHESTER, KOMPAS.com - Lebih dari 100 ibu dari segala usia menyusui bersama di Trafford Centre, Manchester, Inggris, Senin (201/6/2011). Kegiatan ini merupakan bagian dari Pekan Kesadaran ASI Nasional (National Breastfeeding Awareness Week).


Ibu-ibu itu dengan bangga menyusui bayi masing-masing di mal yang sibuk itu. Tak pelak mereka menjadi tontonan para pengunjung mal.


"Tidak setiap hari kita melihat begitu banyak payudara terbuka saat kita berbelanja. Tetapi saya rasa ini cara yang bagus agar orang mau memperhatikan pesan yang disampaikan. Saya dukung mereka sepenuhnya," kata seorang pengunjung pusat perbelanjaan itu.


Pekan Kesadaran ASI itu diadakan dari 19 hingga 25 Juni 2011, dan merupakan program yang didukung National Health System. Trafford Centre merupakan salah satu pendukungnya dan menyediakan sejumlah tempat bagi ibu yang ingin menyusui bayinya di mal itu.
