TEMPO Interaktif, Campion - Seekor sapi dengan corak seperti panda lahir di Colorado, Amerika Serikat. Sapi yang disebut "sapi panda" ini lahir sebuah peternakan di Campion, Larimer County, kota terbesar di Colorado. Sapi dengan corak panda ini tergolong langka, hanya ada sekitar 24 ekor di seluruh penjuru dunia.


Pemilik sapi, Chris Jessen memberi nama sapi panda ini Ben. Dia lahir pada tanggal malam menjelang tahun baru. Sapi ini berwajah putih dengan lingkaran hitam di matanya. Sedangkan di bagian perutnya juga ada garis putih melingkar, persis seperti panda. Ibu Ben, Bella adalah sapi Angus yang berbulu hitam.


Ben adalah hasil persilangan dan rekayasa genetik. Sapi ini berbadan mini (miniatur). Dari 25 sapi panda di dunia rata-rata hanya menjadi hewan peliharaan atau sebagai hewan pertunjukkan. "Tingginya sekitar 1 meter tapi beratnya bisa mencapai 340 kg," kata Jessen kepada "Good Morning America."


Sapi panda mini yang langka ini memiliki harga cukup tinggi, sekitar Rp 270 juta. "Karena harganya tinggi, kami berniat untuk menjualnya," ujar Jessen. Jessen memang hobi "membuat" binatang mini, sebelum sapi panda ini, dia memiliki kangguru mini.
