IZArc adalah perangkat lunak yang memiliki fungsi utama sebagai pengompres berkas. Pekerjaan ini sangat membantu ketika ada sejumlah berkas yang berukuran besar akan dikirim ke komputer lain via e-mail atau untuk mengarsipkan sejumlah berkas yang sangat banyak, sehingga dapat menambah tempat kosong pada ruang harddisk. Dengan tingkat kompresi yang dapat mencapai lebih dari 80% (tergantung jenis dan format berkas), aplikasi ini sangat bermanfaat untuk mengecilkan ukuran berkas.



Program ini mampu menangani hingga 47 jenis format yang berbeda, mulai dari standar ZIP hingga berkas berupa image CD atau DVD dalam format NRG atau ISO. Aplikasi ini juga mampu mengekstrak berkas yang kurang lengkap saat diunduh.
