Seorang pembunuh bayaran, Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), bekerja untuk sebuah organisasi kriminal bernama LOOPER dan tugasnya membunuh para penjahat yang dikirim dari masa depan. Hingga pada suatu ketika ia mengetahui bahwa target berikutnya adalah dirinya sendiri di masa depan (Bruce Willis), dan ia tidak akan tinggal diam menunggu terbunuh tanpa memberikan perlawanan
