The two comic universes came together when the incarnations of their respective universes (referred to as "the Brothers") became aware of each other after aeons of slumber. To prevent the Brothers from destroying each other, characters from each universe battled to determine which universe would survive; several of the matches were determined by online voting. Access, a character created for the event (co-owned by Marvel and DC), served as a gate keeper who became stuck between traveling through both Universes.

"Two Brothers" personifikasi dari DC universe n Marvel universe (konsep "Tuhan" dari masing2 universe, jadi mirip2 kaya Galactus, phoenix, dll. tapi ini lebih mirip Mereka adalah Universe itu sendiri) menyadari keberadaannya satu sama lain, dan persaingan pun di mulai. duel ini melibatkan beberapa superhero dari masing2 universe, dimana yg kalah, dunianya akan lenyap. (beberapa battle ditentukan dgn voting dari fans)

Access, tokoh yang diciptakan khusus buat event ini bertugas sebagai penjaga pintu gerbang, menjadi terjebak antara kedua dunia. Untuk mencegah kehancuran total, the Spectre dan the Living Tribunal (1 tokoh marvel, 1 DC) menciptakan alam semesta gabungan (nah di dunia ini semua superhero merging 1sama lain), di mana hanya Access dan Dr Strangefate yang tahu.
