speedlight

Hey guys. I recently bought a canon 430II speedlight and i love it, but I would really like to use it OFF the camera. My question is how do i do that? What do i need to have it flash when i want it to flash? I have a shoe adapter so is there a cord i could easily buy from the store? if not what wireless item do i need? Thanks for any help guys!
