Green and not my usual Goldfinch

Ran through a series of poses for me

Making sure i got the best side

Checking again to see if I was paying attention

and a final check to see if those pesky Goldfinches had left a perch free on the feeder.

The conditions today with the winter sunshine and crisp clear air made it one of the best days for photographing the finches for months. The afternoon light really made these usually a dull greeny-yelow birds look golden.
