Inilah bayi superjumbo seberat 7 kilogram dari pasangan asal Texas, Janet Johnson dan Michael Brown.

Kedua pasangan itu sangat bahagia menyambut jabang bayi yang dilahirkan dengan operasi cesar pada Jumat pagi waktu setempat, 8 Juli 2011, di rumah sakit Good Shepherd Medical Center, Longview.

Bayi seberat itu hampir sama dengan berat badan bayi berusia 6 bulan. Dalam siaran televisi untuk acara "Today", Janet dan Michael mengatakan, sebelumnya dokter menginformasikan bayi yang akan dilahirkan sangat besar berbobot sekitar 5,4 hingga 5,9 kilogram. Namun, faktanya mencapai 7 kilogram. Menurut dokter, bayi ini dilahirkan dari seorang ibu berusia 39 tahun yang mengidap kencing manis.

Bayi dengan bobot 7 kilogram, menurut Guiness Book of Record, dianggap melebihi berat bayi rata-rata yang mencapai 3 kilogram. Sementara bayi terberat di dunia sebelumnya pernah dilahirkan pada 1879 di Ohio dengan bobot 10 kilogram.

Pada 2005, seorang ibu berusia 35 tahun di Brasil yang juga terkena diabetes melahirkan bayi seberat 7,7 kilogram. Namun, rekor tersebut dipecahkan oleh bayi dari Indonesia yang pernah dilahirkan pada 2009 dengan berat 8,71 kilogram.
