for about the game:

Tales of Phantasia is the first installment of the Tales series, and was released by Namco in 1995 for the Super Famicom. It featured the Linear Motion Battle System at its most basic. Released at the end of 1995, Tales of Phantasia is considered one of the crowning achievements for its time. It had graphics that pushed the SFC to its limits, an addictive and original, never-before-seen battle system (the Linear Motion Battle System) and the addition of actual voices and voice actors. It was also the first and only SFC game to feature an entirely original, vocalized theme song featured directly in the game.

Tales of Phantasia originally was only available in the US through the fan translation of the Super Famicom version done by DeJap. However, the PlayStation version has been translated into English by Absolute Zero, and another translation patch has been created by Phantasian Productions. The Game Boy Advance version has been translated and released commercially for North America and Europe in 2006, though many fans consider it to be an inferior version and the translation to be poor.

In the game, the protagonist is Cress Albane, along with his comrades: Chester Burklight, Mint Adenade, Claus F. Lester, Arche Klein, and later in the PlayStation remake, Suzu Fujibayashi. They fight against Dhaos, an evil sorcerer, while traveling through time to save their world.

Tales of Destiny is the second game to be released in the Tales Series. Unlike its predecessor, Tales of Phantasia, the characters in this game were designed by famous manga artist Mutsumi Inomata. Even though this game was released years ago, its popularity didn't cease to exist, mainly because of its remake for the PS2 console. The remake features a new Aerial Linear Motion Battle System, and is also home to Tales Popularity Contest winner, Lion Magnus.

for about the game:

Tales of Eternia, also named Tales of Destiny II in North America, is the third Mothership Title in the Tales series. Like the Tales games before it, it is a 2D anime-style RPG. Its real time Linear Motion Battle System is far more advanced than those found in its two predecessors. Tales of Eternia is the first game in which one of its ports was released in Europe, but not in North America.

A PlayStation Portable port of Tales of Eternia has been released in both Japan and Europe, while North America knows this game as Tales of Destiny II for PlayStation only. Its North American release was titled Tales of Destiny II to avoid trademark infringement on the name Eternia, owned by Mattel in North America for the Masters of the Universe toyline. The naming choice later caused some confusion after the release of the PlayStation 2 game known as Tales of Destiny 2, a genuine sequel to Tales of Destiny taking place in the same fictional world. Tales of Eternia is not related to Tales of Destiny, except for a few brief character cameos that are typical of all Tales Series games after Tales of Phantasia.

Spoiler for open this:
for about the game:

Tales of Symphonia is considered to be the best Tales of game from the series. This game is also the fifth to be released for the series. It was first released for the GameCube, with the theme song Starry Heavens sung by Day After Tomorrow. A PS2 version was made available in Japan only, featuring a new theme song, Soshite Boku Ni Dekiru Koto, also sung by Day After Tomorrow.

The game was produced by Namco. It is the fifth main installment in the Tales RPG series, taking place long before Tales of Phantasia (hence a distant prequel), and was the third in the series to be officially released in the U.S. in many years. One notable characteristic of the game is its art direction by Kosuke Fujishima, a renowned Japanese manga-ka famous for his work on other Tales Series games and the anime Ah! My Goddess!.

The 4-episode OVA DVD releases finished in 2007, ending the Sylvarant Arc. There is news that more episodes are to be done for the Tethe'alla Arc.

for about the game:

Tales of Rebirth is the sixth game of the Tales series, and the third one to be released for the PlayStation 2. Due to unknown reasons, this game did not get a North American localization. The game features the "Three-Line Linear Motion Battle System" of the Tales games, which features the characters to be pre-designated in three lines that can target the enemy. This game, like other PS2 Tales games, contains a lot of animated cutscenes.
