The colossal confectionery weighed 2,133.5 kg (4,703 lb), had a diameter of 2.5 m (8 ft 2 in) and was 56 cm (1 ft 10 in) tall. It was created by a team of 55 Mexican chefs from four of the most prestigious gourmet universities in Mexico and one restaurant of the city; the team was led by Executive Chef Miguel Ángel Quezada and Chef Eli López, a desserts specialist, both of the Cordon Bleu Restaurant. This magnificent achievement took place at the Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana, in the heart of Mexico City.



The recipe for the world’s largest cheesecake included 800 kg (1,764 lb) of Philadelphia cream cheese, 800 kg of yogurt, 350 kg (772 lb) of cookies, 250 kg (551 lb) of sugar, 150 kg (331 lb) of butter and 100 kg (220 lb) of strawberries, along with other ingredients.

The Hotel’s Executive chef Rainer Zinngrebe along with banquet chef Aldo Novoa accomplished the appetizing feat, surpassing a previous record set in 2008 that stood at 32.93 kg, or 72 lbs., 9 oz. The new record was confirmed by Martinez, and after the record was confirmed, the meatball was cut up into normal-sized portions and served to everyone at the record-setting event.

To celebrate the release of The Simpsons Movie on dvd, the Simpsons family oversaw the construction of the world’s largest doughnut.



It took 40 people over nine hours to build, using over 90,000 doughnuts, half a tonne of pink icing and 30kg of sprinkles from Donut King.



The giant doughnut measures six metres and weighs a whopping 3.5 tonnes, which is the equivalent of two rhinoceroses.

Performed with a surgeon’s precision, the young man sliced open the stretched snake-like tube of bread in front of him. After bisecting the bun with several delicate scalpel swipes, he patiently stuffed a single 114.32 meter (375 ft) link of carefully prepared sausage into it. With intense focus the young man completed the “operation” with several sprays of mustard along the entire length of the creation, to help meat products producer Empacadora Ponderosa achieve a delicious new Guinness World Record for the longest hot dog.



Spanning more than a typical American football field, the hot dog was unveiled at Monterrey’s popular “Macroplaza”, under careful observation by government health inspectors, who certified that it was safe for human consumption.



Following the successful outcome, the incredible edible was cut into 1,000 individual-sized portions, which were then distributed to the hundreds of people gathered to see a meaty accomplishment done rarely: a Guinness World Record well done.
